David Harbour offered quite the biting commentary on the democratic process.

On Monday, “Stranger Things” star Harbour offered his own two cents on the importance of voting on the eve of the 2018 midterm elections, using the sequel to the 1975 classic “Jaws” to demonstrate why voters should get to the polls Tuesday.

Harbour shared an image of Amity police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) yelling at Mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton).

The photo bears the message, “The mayor from Jaws is still the mayor in Jaws 2. Be sure to vote in your local elections.”

“CLOSE THE BEACHES, DAMMIT!!” Harbour wrote of the image, including the hashtags #vote and #america.

In “Jaws,” Mayor Vaughn overrules Brody and makes the unfortunate choice not to close Amity’s beaches, despite mounting evidence that there’s a big freaking shark with a hankering for humans lurking in the water.

Which makes Vaughn’s continued tenure as mayor in the 1978 sequel a particularly distressing circumstance.

Harbour’s sharing of the image is given another layer of meaning, given that the actor plays lawman Jim Hopper on the supernatural Netflix series.

Well-played, Mr. Harbour. Though if you wanted to depict a true onscreen disaster, you might have turned your doll-like gaze to “Jaws 3-D.”
