Sony Pictures will no longer be making the high-profile film about Steve Jobs’ life.

The studio has put the biopic about the Apple co-founder into turnaround, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap Wednesday evening.

Michael Fassbender had been in early talks to star in the film based on the authorized biography by Walter Isaacson, titled “Steve Jobs,” which has a script by Aaron SorkinScott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady were producing the film.

As TheWrap previously reported, Christian Bale exited the project earlier this month, despite Sorkin confirming his involvement. Along with Fassbender, Jessica Chastain and Seth Rogen also recently emerged as potential cast members.

The film was expected to follow Jobs during three stressful, high-profile product launches including the first Macintosh in 1984 and Apple’s 2001 debut of the iPod.
