Ever fantasize about laying next to Brad Pitt, staring up at the stars and coming up with a dozen or so pet names for one another?
Stephen Colbert got to live that fantasy on Tuesday evening, when the actor graced his late now show in support of his upcoming Netflix feature film “War Machine.”
The sketch was a nimble exercise in wordplay, with Colbert calling the Academy Award nominee “Bradley Trooper,” “Pitty-Pat,” “Brad to the Bone” and — Pitt’s personal favorite, judging by that signature chuckle — “Bradimir Pittin.”
CBS released the clip on Tuesday, so it wasn’t immediately clear if the men have a more substantive chat — thought we suspect Brad might be tapped out from his barn burner of a GQ Style cover story this month.
Pitt’s satire of General Stanley McChrystal, directed by David Michod and exclusive to the streaming giant, premieres on May 26. We can only hope he is credited by one of the many loving nicknames dreamt up by Colbert.
