Stephen Colbert is thrilled that the man he fake-endorsed for Mayor, Joe Lhota, won Tuesday’s Republican primary.
Lhota, who was the only candidate to speak out against a subway stoppage to save kittens on the tracks, is lucky that the cuddly baby cats can’t vote under New York City law.

Lhota’s adversary in the general election will be Democratic candidate Bill de Blasio, who Colbert calls, “A man so liberal, he won the gay vote against a lesbian,” referring to Christine Quinn.
He continued, “Of course that’s just in the polls, and by definition, lesbians don’t go for polls.”
