Starz Unveils ‘Magic City’ Season 2 Key Art: It’s a ‘Gangster’s Paradise’ (Photo & Video)

The Miami mafia drama returns on June 14

It’s 1950s Miami again on Starz’s returning mob drama, “Magic City.” The cable network just released the Season 2 key art along with a couple video teasers that should get fans’ engines revving ahead of the June 14 return.

The key art features star Jeffrey Dean Morgan looking very cool in a classic convertible. The tagline: “Gangster’s Paradise.”

Morgan plays Ike Evans, who viewers learned on Season 1 owns Miami’s hottest hotel, the Miramar Playa. In order to keep it that way, Evans gets into business with Miami mob boss Ben Diamond (Danny Huston) — a decision with consequences.

With the groundwork laid down, the second season finds Evans dealing with bigger forces in the mob — stretching to its Chicago outfit. Stakes get a lot higher as Evans finds that freeing his hotel from the mob comes at a high price.

From executive producer Mitch Glazer ("The Recruit," "Great Expectations"), "Magic City" also stars Olga Kurylenko, Kelly Lynch, Steven Strait, Elena Satine, Christian Cooke and Dominik Garcia-Lorido.

Additionally, James Caan ("The Godfather," "Las Vegas"), Esai Morales (“Caprica”), Sherilyn Fenn (“Twin Peaks”), Jamie Harris (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”) and rapper Rick Ross join Season 2.

In a rare move for TV — cable or broadcast — Starz renewed the drama in March of last year, ahead of its series premiere. With no ratings available, the vote of confidence seemed to have been made mostly on the strength of its global distribution sales.

Premiering soft with 423,000 total viewers, Starz reported more than 2.5 million people watched the debut episode in April — a number drawn from an early sneak preview after the “Spartacus: Vengeance” finale, as well as DVR and VOD viewing.

Here's the teaser:

“Magic City” Season 2 premieres Friday, June 14 at 9/8c on Starz.
