Stars at Palm Springs Film Festival Discuss the #MeToo Movement ‘Wave’ (Video)

“Let’s give women a way to be heard who aren’t in front of a camera, who don’t have a mouthpiece, who are underrepresented, who are silenced,” says Holly Hunter

At the 2018 Palm Springs International Film Festival, women in Hollywood spoke with TheWrap Editor-in-Chief Sharon Waxman about the growing #MeToo movement and their hopes for how the entertainment industry will continue to address harassment this coming year.

“It’s fabulous because it’s so pragmatic,” said “The Big Sick” star Holly Hunter. “Let’s give women a way to be heard who aren’t in front of a camera, who don’t have a mouthpiece, who are underrepresented, who are silenced.”

Other stars who spoke with Waxman include “I, Tonya” star Allison Janey, “Lady Bird” star Laurie Metcalfe, and “The Big Sick” producer and co-writer Emily Gordon. Check out their remarks in the clip above.
