“The Walking Dead” Twitter account just proved you don’t need to be associated with “Star Wars” to get in on the mania sweeping the nation ahead of the release of “The Force Awakens” this weekend.
The hit AMC zombie apocalypse drama asked fans on social media to mashup the two franchises on Wednesday using the hashtag #TWDStarWars, and fans have answered by immediately making it a trending topic in the United States.
Some tweeted funny lines like, “Help me, Michonni-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.” Others put out funny pictures featuring “Walking Dead” characters inserted into “Star Wars” posters.
