A new international trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” teases the return of the dark side of the Force.
The 30-second Korean promo shows much of what fans have already seen in other glimpses at the seventh installment of the science fiction saga.
“There has been an awakening,” an ominous voice says. “Have you felt it?”
Director and co-writer J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars” sequel is set 30 years after the “Return of the Jedi,” when the rebels crushed the Galactic Empire. While audiences will see some old fan favorites return, a new wave of heroes and villains will hit the big screen when the film is released on Dec. 18.
The film stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie and Pip Anderson.
Plans for “Star Wars: Episode VIII” have already begun. Rian Johnson is directing the next installment, which is expected to start shooting early next year and is set for a May 26, 2017 release date. Ram Bergman is producing the film with Lucasfilm’s Kathy Kennedy.
Christopher Miller and Phil Lord will direct a standalone feature about a young Han Solo, the iconic character played by Ford in the original trilogy. Lawrence and Jon Kasden will write the screenplay.
