There are certainly no scruffy-looking nerf herders in this group.
Following the successful release of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” teaser trailer (nearly 50 million YouTube views in a week), J.J. Abrams has revealed the names of the characters featured in the film.
Abrams, notorious for keeping his projects under very tight wraps, unveiled a series of retro trading cards adorned with images from the trailer to Entertainment Weekly. We now know that John Boyega, the British actor who appeared in a stormtrooper uniform, is named Finn. Oscar Isaac, seen flying an X-Wing, is Poe Dameron. The cards did not reveal the actor playing the character wielding the red lightsaber, but we do know that his name is Kylo Ren.
And in a move that will surely drive fanboy speculation to an all-time high, Abrams stated that the numbering system on the cards does hold significance, though he would not elaborate further.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
