Director Justin Lin revealed the title of “Star Trek 3” on Monday in a tweet thatย would have made even the most ย die-hard Trekkies proud.
“Let the next Starfleet voyage begin! #StarTrekBeyond #LLAP,” Lin wrote, along with the first image from the set, showing theย team’s uniform delta shield emblem.
Lin’s hashtag #LLAP is a tribute to iconic actor Leonard Nimoy and Spock’s legendary catchphrase, “Live long and prosper.” Nimoy died in Februaryย after a bout with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseaseย at ageย 83.

Stars Chris Pine (as Captain Kirk), Zachary Quinto (as Spock), Zoe Saldana (as Uhura) and Simon Pegg (as Scotty) are all returning for the third installment, with Idris Elba believed to be joining the cast as a villain.
