Apparently, IFC’s “Spoils of Babylon” will be a very family-friendly affair.
The first clip from the Will Ferrell miniseries — itself a spoof of the epic miniseries genre — features oil tycoon Jonas Morehouse (Tim Robbins) reflecting on the economy with his fellow rich old men, as his adopted son Devon (“Spider-Man” star Tobey Maguire) and daughter Cynthia (Kristen Wiig.)

In an attempt to explain money matters to Cynthia, Devon relies on a quote from pioneering economist Adam Smith — which apparently gets Cynthia all hot and bothered.
As the siblings move uncomfortably close to each other, one thing is obvious — Thanksgiving is likely to get awkward at the Morehouse residence.
