Spike Lee Praises Ryan Coogler’s Vampire Thriller ‘Sinners’ Screening as ‘the Greatest Experience’

The vampire thriller is set for release in April

Spike Lee is thrilled with Ryan Coogler’s latest offering, “Sinners.” In a post shared on Instagram, Lee said the director invited him to watch the movie in IMAX, an event he described as “the greatest experience.”

“I Just Had The Greatest Experience Of Watching A Film In Years. My Brother RYAN COOGLER Invited Me To Experience His New Film SINNERS (In IMAX),” Lee wrote.

“His Magnificent Artistry As A Storyteller Iz On A Annudder” Level. And Y’now Brother MICHAEL B. JORDAN Did His “THANG,THANG” ,Da Performances, Cinematography,Production Design,Costume Design,Original Score,Songs,Visual Effects Are DOPE And What Else Ya Want❓”

Lee added that he was seated next to Coogler and his wife Zinzi and “Was Acting Like I Was Courtside At Da World’s Most Famous Arena-MADISON SQUARE GARDEN And We’re Kickin’ Da Celtics In Dat Green Ass.”

The vampire thriller, set in the 1930s Jim Crow-era United States, has been shrouded in secrecy ahead of its April 2025 release. Michael B. Jordan plays twin vampire brothers who return to their hometown, where they hope to rebuild their lives. Instead, they discover the Ku Klux Klan has taken over.

The cast also includes Delroy Lindo, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li and Lola Kirke.
