TLC has a message for Jon Gosselin: You’re fired (sort of).
The network today said that "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" will morph into "Kate Plus Eight," starting in November. Jon Gosselin will continue to appear on the show, but he won’t be in the title and the series will "now include a deeper focus on Kate’s role in the family and her journey as a single mother building the next chapter in her life," the network said.
"Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family," said Eileen O’Neill, the president and general manager of TLC. "The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kate’s journey really resonates with our viewers."
O’Neill also said TLC was working on a new Kate Gosselin project for launch next year.
Gosselin recently shot a pilot for a syndicated talk show similar to "The View" that’s in the works at Telepictures.
Jon and Kate Gosselin recently began divorce proceedings. Jon Gosselin has been a tabloid stable in recent months due to allegations of infidelity.
