Peter Schlessel is leaving Sony Pictures, where he is president of worldwide affairs, to head up Graham King’s GK Films.
A GK Films spokesperson confirmed the appointment of Schlessel as president.
Schlessel, who has been at Sony for more than 20 years, played a key role in making last year’s distribution deal between Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group and GK Films. Under the three-year deal, Sony releases GK’s movies.
GK’s projects include recent releases "The Young Victoria" and "Edge of Darkness" as well as upcoming movies "The Rum Diary," "The Tourist" and "The Invention of Hugo Cabret."
