Sofia Vergara has exited Creative Artists Agency for United Talent Agency, TheWrap has learned.
The 44-year-old bombshell, who became a primetime sensation on ABC’s “Modern Family,” had been with CAA since 2012. She’ll now be represented by UTA for interests in film, TV, digital and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Vergara is also signed with PR firm 42West and manager Luis Balaguer, with whom she co-founded Latin World Entertainment, a leading Hispanic talent management and marketing firm based in the U.S.
She’ll return for an eighth season of “Modern Family” on September 21. Her role on that show has landed her four Golden Globe Award nominations, four Primetime Emmy Award nods and seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations (four of those she won for Best Comedy Ensemble).
On the film side, Vergara will soon be seen in the ensemble comedy “The Brits Are Coming,” alongside Uma Thurman, Stephen Fry, Tim Roth and Parker Posey. James Oakley is directing from a script he co-wrote with Alex Michaelides.
The actress also counts numerous branding deals, including contracts with Head & Shoulders, Cover Girl, an eponymous perfume and Avon. She’s also the founder of “Peace and Hope for the Children of Colombia,” which helps kids in her home country.
