The comedienne is hosting this weekend’s episode of NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show pairing up with Levine and his band Maroon 5, which recently released a controversial stalker-centric video for its single “Animals.”
Despite the social media uproar over the violent vid, it was all sweetness and light in the “SNL” promo when Silverman paid Levine a compliment, telling him, “You are beautiful.”
“Thank you,” the singer responded, without offering up a return compliment. “I don’t do that,” he told her, anticipating her disappointment.

In one of the promo’s other skits, Levine and Maroon 5 improvised a song about their host. “Saraaaaaaah Silvermaaaaaan,” they sang.
“SNL” kicked off its 40th season on Sept. 27 with “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt and “Problem” singer Ariana Grande.
Silverman and Levine’s “Saturday Night Live” episode airs Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
