Abbie’s (Nicole Beharie) and Jenny’s (Lyndie Greenwood) absentee father is about to finally swing by “Sleepy Hollow”: James McDaniel has been cast as Ezra Mills, who suddenly has a renewed interest in being a bit of a family man.
McDaniel will appear in at least one episode when the series returns next year in its new time slot on Fox: Fridays at 9 p.m. ET.
The actor starred in Amazon’s pilot “Hysteria” and recently recurred on Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black” and Fox’s “The Following.” He was a lead on “NYPD Blue” for 12 seasons. McDaniel’s guest star credits include “Chicago Med,” “Limitless,” “Madam Secretary,” and “Law & Order: SVU,” among other series.
On the big screen, McDaniel played a supporting role in the Warner Bros feature film “Malcolm X” opposite Denzel Washington. He recently had a leading role in independent feature “Sacrifice” opposite Dermot Mulroney. McDaniel is repped by Innovative Artists.
Following next week’s mid-season finale, “Sleepy Hollow” comes back on Feb. 5, 2016.
“Sleepy” has been struggling in the ratings, but it received a nice bump thanks to a Halloween-timed crossover with fellow Fox property “Bones.”
