Brandon Zimon has joined Skydance Media in the role of senior vice president of international sales and co-productions, the company announced Monday, along with the news of an international distribution deal with Lionsgate.
Zimon, who joins Skydance from Sony Pictures Television where he spent over a decade as VP of international distribution, will report directly to the company’s COO Jesse Sisgold.
“In this important new role, Brandon will be responsible for expanding the reach of our new and existing television properties around the world and for independently executing international television acquisitions for Skydance Media,” Sisgold in a statement.
During his time at Sony, Zimon worked on shows including NBC’s “The Blacklist” and AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” in addition to overseeing third-party acquisitions and co-productions, including Amazon’s “Transparent.”
The agreement with Lionsgate will find the two companies partnering on a new division, Skydance International, which fill focus on distribution of Skydance’s television properties outside the U.S. Among the programs covered under the deal are Skydance’s Emmy-nominated series for Netflix “Grace and Frankie.”
