Holly Edwards, who previously served as Skydance Animation’s head of production, has been promoted to president of Skydance Animation, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap.

Edwards will work side by side with head of animation John Lasseter, who joined the company last month after his exit from Disney following misconduct accusations.

Before Skydance, Edwards worked at DreamWorks Animations, working on projects including but not limited to “Kung Fu Panda,” “Madagascar 2: Escape from Africa” and How to Train Your Dragon.” Her other recent credits include “Trolls,” “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” and “Megamind.”

Skydance formed its animation division in 2017, and its first slated movie, “Luck,” will hit theaters in March 2021. Other upcoming Skydance films include “Gemini Man” and “Top Gun: Maverick.”

A spokesperson for Skydance had no comment.

Deadline first reported the news.
