HBO’s sleeper startup hit “Silicon Valley” sent up its namesake brilliantly in its first season and, with the release of its Season 2 promo on Friday, it appears due for another round of programmer stereotypes, venture capitalist clowning and tech sector in-jokes.
In the teaser, the group of developers comprising tech startup Pied Piper, led by skittish coding prodigy Richard Hendriks (Thomas Middleditch), plugs in and pounds down energy drinks, snack foods and bowls of Froot Loops in an effort to maintain consciousness during programming tedium.
Applying pressure on the crew is initial investor Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller), fresh off pounding his own substance of choice, out of a water bong. Season 1’s eight episodes ended with Richard scrapping his previously revolutionary data compression algorithm in favor of an even more revolutionary script overnight, yielding a procession of would-be investors and anxiety vomit.
The show is created and executive produced by Mike Judge (“Office Space”), with Alec Berg, Tom Lassally, Michael Rotenberg, John Altschuler, Dave Krinsky and Scott Rudin also executive producing. The series is produced by Judgemental Films Inc. in association with 3 Arts Entertainment.

Season 2 of Silicon Valley premieres on HBO on Apr. 12 at 10 p.m. ET.
