Showtime has ordered a drama pilot called "The Affair" from "In Treatment" producers Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, the network said on Friday.
The potential series explores exactly what the title suggests: It follows two marriages rocked by infidelity. The one-hour drama will be told separately from the male and female perspectives.

Treem (pictured left) wrote the pilot and will executive produce with co-creator Levi. Mark Mylod ("Entourage," "Shameless") will direct and executive produce.
"The Affair" is the third pilot Showtime has announced in the last two months, following Ridley Scott and Paul Attansio's "The Vatican" and "Penny Dreadful."
The latter hails from "Skyfall" writer John Logan and director Sam Mendes. Beginning production in London during the second half of 2013, the "psychosexual horror series" will feature an ensemble of classic literary monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula.
