The Weinstein Company has released the first trailer for “Lawless,” a new film starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and Jessica Chastain.
Yeah, that’s a lot of top-line talent.
The film, based on the novel “The Wettest Country in the World,” is set in the Prohibition-era South and revolves around a pair of brothers in charge of a bootlegging gang.
John Hillcoat, who helmed "The Road" and "The Proposition," is directing.
It will premiere at Cannes next month and opens nationwide August 31.
