Were you hoping “Sharp Objects” ended on the more warm and fuzzy note it appeared to be headed toward on Sunday’s finale? If so, then you’ll love this mashup video that combines the Amy Adams-led HBO limited series with the opening to the feel-good ’90s sitcom “Full House.”
Yeah, weird combo, we know, but whatever happened to predictability, amirite?
The fake credits (posted on YouTube by user DoingOK) are made up of real footage from the dark TV adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s debut novel about Camille Preaker (Adams), a journalist who goes home to her small town of Wind Gap, Missouri, to investigate the murders of two young girls. But, obviously, the video only includes the clips where people are happily smiling and the lighting is bright so that the “Full House” theme seems totally appropriate.
The result is a softer (sorry, we had to) version of “Sharp Objects” featuring Adams, Eliza Scanlen as her adorable little sister and Patricia Clarkson as her loving mother.
“Sharp Objects,” which ended its eight-episode run Sunday, is based on “Gone Girl” author Flynn’s novel of the same name, and is directed by “Big Little Lies” alum Jean-Marc Vallee. The series was written by Flynn and showrunner Marti Noxon (“Dietland,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”). Starring alongside Adams, Scanlen, and Clarkson were Chris Messina, Elizabeth Perkins, Matt Craven and Sophia Lillis.
