Sharon Stone has been cast in a four-episode arc on "Law & Order: SVU," NBC confirmed Tuesday.
Stone will play an ex-cop who’s now a prosecutor. She’s expected to film her episodes later this winter or early next spring, making a May sweeps appearance a real possibilty.
"It is obviously a thrill and a delight to have a star of Sharon’s wattage and importance joining ‘SVU’," "Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf said in a statement.
For now, Stone is only set to appear in four episodes. But it’s not uncommon for movie types to test the waters on a show before opting to jump in full-time.
Stone’s last major TV gig was a stint on Showtime’s "Huff." She’s also appeared on NBC’s "Will & Grace" and ABC’s "The Practice."
