New York City is in trouble and campy TV movie fans are in luck: Syfy has released a teaser for “Sharknado 2.”
The science fiction silliness is on full display in the short clip, which is posted below. In it, the self-aware cable channel even adopts a quote from Entertainment Weekly, calling the cable film “Bigger … Bolder … Even More Ridiculous.”
On first glance, that appears to be accurate.

Mark McGrath, Tara Reid and Ian Ziering are looking to the skies and fleeing from Great White hurricane in the 20-second teaser. Ziering hits the only line in the promo: “It’s happening again.”
It sure is.
“Sharknado 2: The Second One” premieres July 30 at 9 p.m. on Syfy. The cable channel recently greenlit “Sharknado 3” — let’s hope that these ’90s stars can survive for a third (natural) disaster.
