‘Shameless’ Star Steve Howey Discusses Upsides of Showtime Comedy’s New ‘Throuple’ (Video)

“There’s more time for Kev and V to be a couple. There’s more time for sexual arousal,” actor tells TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell

“Shameless” has a new “throuple” in Season 7, and star Steve Howey says so far it’s come with no downsides.

“It’s going good and in this next episode Kev has got a master plan,” Howey told TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell in the latest episode of “Drinking With the Stars.” “There’s more time for Kev and V to be a couple. There’s more time for sexual arousal … And there’s more time to sleep, because there’s an extra hand taking care of the kids.”

The Showtime dramedy returned for it’s seventh season earlier this month, and Howey promises that the new season will see Frank and the Gallagher family up to the same “shenanigans.”

Howey also detailed some of the other characters’ arcs this season, including Fiona’s transition to becoming an “entrepreneur.”

“She becomes a businesswomen. She starts focusing on herself and not the family,” he said.

“Lip is still battling this whole getting kicked out of college,” Howey said. “Ian is going to confront his boyfriend. We’ll see what happens there. There are some new love interests that come in … It’s a really new character, a really cool actor that I think everybody’s going to like.”

“Shameless” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
