“Shameless” star Ethan Cutkosky, who plays trouble-prone youth Carl Gallagher on the Showtime series, has reached a plea agreement in the DUI case he was facing.

Cutkosky, 18, pleaded Thursday guilty to one count of reckless driving, a representative for the Burbank, Calif., city attorney’s office told TheWrap on Thursday. In exchange for the plea, the DUI charge was dismissed, and the actor received two years of probation.

The actor must also attend either 26 Narcotics Anonymous sessions, or a 12-hour class.

Cutkosky’s attorney, Troy Slaten, told TheWrap, “I think it was a good, fair result,” noting that any allegation involving alcohol or drugs against his client was “completely dismissed.”

Cutkosky was arrested on Nov. 2, after being stopped just after 10:30 p.m. by officers of the Burbank, Calif., police department for unsafe speed, an unsafe turning movement and lane straddling. Police told TheWrap that officers noticed “the distinct odor of burnt marijuana” on the 18-year-old actor, who told police that he had smoked weed earlier that evening.

Cutkosky was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI, drugs.
