William H. Macy and the rest of the cast of Showtime's "Shameless" would like to share some holiday cheer with you. Preferably, holiday cheer of the 80-proof variety.
Macy and his cohorts have recorded a Christmas carol for all the world to enjoy, and it's clear from the opening lines of the song — "Christmas comes every every freakin' year/Dumb gifts and empty yuletide cheer" — that this is no "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" knockoff.
No, the message of the tune — with words and music by Macy — is as clear as a vodka bottle: If you must drink to cope with the holidays, drink in quantity. And if you don't feel the need to drink over the holidays … pass the bottle, because it's going to waste.
"Shameless" returns with its Season Two premiere on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 9 p.m. Until then, follow the bouncing beer bottle and sing along.
