Note: This story contains spoilers from “Severance” Season 2, Episode 10.

“Severance” served up it’s expectedly tense Season 2 finale, and in typical form offered up a number of questions to mull over until Season 3.

Mark (Adam Scott) and Helly (Britt Lower) are last seen fleeing through the emergency light-soaked halls of the severed floor running Kier knows where. While Mark chose to help break Gemma (Dichen Lachman) out from her Cold Harbor prison, he chose not to reunite his outie with his not-dead wife. On top of all that, it seems that the other innies of the floor are finally deciding to fight back against the Lumon administration.

Below, we look at the biggest hanging questions left by Season 2 as the hopefully not to long wait for Season 3 begins.

Will there be a Season 3?

Yes! It was announced the day the Season 2 finale released that — unsurprisingly — Apple TV+ renewed “Severance” for a third season. There is no word on when to expect the new season but executive producer Ben Stiller has already promised the wait would be less than the three years fans had between Season 1 and 2.

Where will Mark and Helly go?

The last moments of the Season 2 finale show Mark and Helly running hand-in-hand through the severed floor while red emergency lights flash through the halls. But where are they running to? There are only so many places to hide when you’re sequestered to a single floor of a single building.

Based on the finale, it certainly seems like the show is heading to a revolt of the severed floor innies — Dylan (Zach Cherry) managed to muster the music department marching band to hold Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) at bay and Lorne (Gwendoline Christie) helped Mark fight off Mr. Drummond.

There may not be a lot of physical places for the pair to hide but we’ve already seen the severed floor is much bigger than expected and it’s clear Mark and Helly have a growing list of allies to help them.

Will Irving return?

Did Irving (John Turturro) really ride off into the cloudy sunset never to return again? It certainly seems like his story had run its course but the decision to send him away rather than continuing to explore his and Burt’s growing connection could also be a way to bring Turturro back in a guest capacity later.

We’ll just have to manage with a final shot of Irv looking out at a rising sun with a smile growing on his face. At least someone on this show managed to find a slice of happiness – for now.

Is Helly pregnant?

Mark and Helly have technically had sex twice by the end of Season 2. Many people assume she’s pregnant with Mark’s kid. Precedence for severed identities getting pregnant was set back in the first episodes of Season 1, when a news report is played of the legal ramifications behind a woman getting pregnant due to her innie’s actions.

There are no direct reveals in the Season 2 finale that can confirm whether Helly is pregnant, but the signs certainly seem to be pointing that way. With them on the run within the severed floor, it will be interesting to see how Mark handles having a baby with an Eagan.

What happens to Gemma?

The last we see of Gemma (Dichen Lachman) is over Mark’s shoulder as he leaves her in the emergency exit stairwell and runs back to Helly. But what happens next with her?

Assuming she makes it out of the building, it’s not going to be a great look for Lumon. Gemma is supposed to be dead and if she blows the whistle on being hidden in Lumon and psychologically tortured for years then the anti-severed movement out in the world likely gains a lot of ground.

“Severance” Season 1 and 2 are now streaming on Apple TV+.
