In case if you ever thought it was in doubt, yes, Seth Rogen is high in about every movie you’ve seen him in. In fact, there’s a “100% chance” of it, the actor told Stephen Colbert Monday.
Colbert asked the “Long Shot” star just how often he really partakes in the “marijuana cigarette” and whether any of that has ever translated into his work or in his performances.
“Yeah, I smoke weed all day every day of my life,” Rogen said. “Oh, for the last 20 years exclusively.”
Rogen had confessed he was terrified to work with Charlize Theron in “Long Shot,” believing he’s not close to the actor she is. That is, in part, because when he’s high on set, Rogen becomes a “viewer” and simply enjoys admiring the work of other actors.
“I’m an actor, and I don’t like it when people assume I am who my characters are, but whenever I meet another actor, I just assume they are who they are who their characters are. When I met Charlize Theron, I thought, ‘oh she’s going to kill me,’” Rogen joked. “And in a movie, I am the type of guy she would kill.”
Rogen has talked before about smoking weed while working. On 2008’s “Pineapple Express,” Rogen brought in a “legal bud” that simulates the look of weed on film. And in 2011, Rogen told MTV that he frequently writes along with his partner, Evan Goldberg, while high.
“I don’t know if it helps me write. It makes me not mind that I’m writing,” Rogen said. “And I don’t know if it makes me work better, but it makes me not care that I’m working. Who wants to work? But if you’re stoned, it doesn’t seem like work.”
