Former Obama administration appointee Seth Oster has joined United Talent Agency in the role of Global Head of Corporate Communications, the company announced Friday.
Once a top public affairs official at the Environmental Protection Agency, Oster joins the Hollywood agency most recently from his position as communications chief at KPMG, a big-four accounting firm.
Oster replaces longtime executive Chris Day, who announced his departure in December. Starting January 16, Oster will work closely with UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer and managing directors David Kramer and Jay Sures.
“As we continue to grow and diversify globally it is critical that our colleagues, clients and the broader business community understand the many ways we can serve their needs. Seth’s extensive background in the creative community, government and corporate America will help us to accomplish that, and much more,” Zimmer said in a statement.
Previous to KPMG, Oster held positions at the Screen Actors Guild, MPAA and music site Napster. He also served as a communications aide to California Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Oster attended George Washington University, and has previously held board positions with Bright Star Schools and the Jewish Big Brothers of L.A. He currently sits on the Pacific Council on International Policy.
