Seth Meyers took a few minutes from his Thursday episode to address the “heartbreaking” news of David Letterman‘s retirement.
Meyers, who occupies the “Late Night” show that Letterman launched, said that he, like many others, grew up on Letterman.

“We would try to memorize Top Ten lists so we could tell them on the bus the next day,” Meyers recalled.
He continued: “There are a lot of things I can’t believe about the fact that I get to do this job, but the thing that I truly can’t believe more than all of the others is that ‘Late Night,’ this was David Letterman‘s show.”
