Apple released the first trailer for its M. Night Shyamalan series “Servant” on Wednesday.
Described as a psychological thriller, “Servant” follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home.
In the 2-minute, 17-second video above, you’ll see that “unspeakable tragedy” is the loss of a baby named Jericho, who they replace with a doll and hire a nanny to watch. And then the nanny turns out to be even weirder than the situation they brought her into.
“Servant” will premiere on the streaming service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28.
Series stars Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”), Toby Kebbell (“Kong: Skull Island,” “Black Mirror”), Nell Tiger Free (“Game of Thrones”) and Rupert Grint (“Harry Potter,” “Snatch”) were at the NYCC panel on Thursday in addition to Shyamalan and writer/creator Tony Basgallop (“Inside Men,” “What Remains”).
“Servant” will be one of the first original series to debut on the streaming service, which is set to launch on Nov. 1, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston’s “The Morning Show,” Ronald D. Moore’s space race drama “For All Mankind,” the Hailee Steinfeld-led period comedy “Dickinson” and the Jason Momoa sci-fi series “See.”
Apple TV+ will cost $4.99 per month and will be included for customers who buy a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod touch, starting Sept. 10.
