“Scorpion” star Robert Patrick gets to cheat death in the latest episode of the CBS series.
When a mission in the desert results in exploding shrapnel that seriously wounds Cabe (Patrick), Team Scorpion must resort to drastic measures in order to keep him alive.
“What the episode really symbolizes is the frailty of life,” Patrick told TheWrap. “Even though they look at Cabe as this invincible guy who can overcome anything and everything, they find themselves in a situation where they have to use their intellect to save him.”
But it’s how they save him that makes the episode crazy. “He’s bleeding out in a remote desert location and this team of geniuses has to scramble quickly and figure out how to save his life,” he said. “Walter and Toby come to the conclusion that the best way to save Cabe is to freeze him to stop his heart from beating and stop the bleeding.”
Patrick said the part of the episode he enjoyed the most was the emotional moments he got to share with each cast memeber. “I get to interact with each member of the team and they tell me how much I mean to them and I get to say how much they mean to me,” he said. “I also get to tell them that if I don’t survive this, it’s OK.”
“Scorpion” airs tonight at 10 p.m./9c on CBS.
