My dreams for Israel and President Obama's are seemingly at odds.
When we are long gone from this earth, most of us will be remembered for one, maybe two things we did during our lifetime. Although I cherish the thought of being remembered as a loving father, husband, brother and great American first and foremost, there will be those who will remember me as one of the producers of the films "Schindler's List" and "2016: Obama’s America."
I will always be proud of them both but I will be especially proud and treasure the night we stood before the world and accepted the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1993 for "Schindler's List."
"Schindler's List" has left an indelible mark on the conscience of men and women for it depicts the horror of man’s egregious inhumanity to man. It speaks to the spirit and bravery of those who faced death in one of history’s darkest times simply because of who they were and what they believed.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of those who suffered and died and their memory emboldens my resolve to never, ever forget and I do so by supporting Israel and standing shoulder to shoulder with my brothers and sisters who live there seeking peace and happiness in an unstable world.

I strongly believe Israel is not only our greatest ally in the Middle East but a special friend and I, along with millions of others around the world, believe in the admonition of God that he who blesses Israel, will also be blessed.
Although my current film, "2016: Obama’s America" may not garner the attention "Schindler's List" did, I believe it will serve as a testament to the plight of the Jewish people and if nothing else, convey the message that they remain our most loyal friend in the Middle East.
But not everyone feels that way as was demonstrated poignantly at the United Nations where the leader of Iran declared that Israel would be "eliminated."
It also follows the shameful spectacle of the President of the United States of America reportedly turning down a meeting request by the Prime Minister of Israel citing scheduling conflicts — a schedule that did permit for leisurely visits to David Letterman's show and "The View" and a fundraiser with Jay-Z and Beyonce
As you will see in the clip below which is taken from the film, there are forces in the world who view our Israeli friends, not as I do, but as a Trojan Horse, and that it is America’s role to "tame Israel" and that is something we would never consider.
I am sure that Israel faces an existential threat that only worsens as each day passes. I am not sure if the present administration or our president shares that view and that gives me great cause for concern.
Since Israel's founding in 1948 the American way has been for us to stand with our ally and friend against all who would seek to destroy it.

For me the question is, does our president see it that way? His dreams, the dreams from his father, his father's friends and some of his radical friends do not seem consistent with the dreams I have for the state of Israel and the Jewish people. It is my constant hope and prayer that they will be allowed to live in peace, security and harmony forever and ever.
My career has been in filmed entertainment. I am not a politician nor do I ever plan on being one. But I love America as a citizen. And I would like to leave you with the words that close out our film, from the film's writer/director, Dinesh D’Souza:
“The first time we did not know what change would look like. Now we do. Which dream will we carry into 2016? The American dream or Obama’s dream? The future is not in my hands. It’s not even in Obama’s hands. It is in your hands."
