“Hit the Floor” alum McKinley Freeman has booked a guest starring role on ABC’s “Scandal,” TheWrap has learned.
Details about Freeman’s “Scandal” character and storyline are unknown, but he is set to appear on the Kerry Washington-led series in an upcoming episode later this season.
Freeman previously starred on the VH1 cheerleading drama for three seasons as Derek Roman. He is next set to star on the network’s upcoming “Daytime Divas,” premiering June 5. He also stars in and produces the upcoming feature “Illicit,” and recurs on the Tyler Perry OWN series “If Loving You Is Wrong.”
The Shonda Rhimes political drama is currently airing its sixth season, and recently celebrated its 100th episode with an alternate-reality sequence imagining what would happen if the rigged election — the defining moment in the show’s historical timeline — had never taken place.
Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Mark Fish and Tom Verica serve as executive producers on the series from ABC Studios.
Freeman is repped by Luber Roklin and Stone Manners Salners Agency.
