(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Thursday’s episode of “Scandal”)
Y’all remember Abby Whelan? Former red-headed gladiator turned Chief of Staff Abby, played by Darby Stanchfield? Remember how innocent — I mean as innocent as any character on “Scandal” can really be — and just good-hearted she was?
Yeah, that’s all out the window because a new Abby’s in town.
Thursday night’s episode was all about Huck (Guillermo Diaz) running around in circles trying to find out who the mole was after Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) convinced him that he’s a good guy who’s being blackmailed by the Shadowy Organization and Olivia (Kerry Washington) is in danger because there’s a rat in her circle.
Oh no, we can’t have a mole running about free and what not.
So finally Huck thinks this traitor is his new girlfriend, Meg (Phoebe Neidhardt) — who is also Jennifer Fields’ (Chelsea Kurtz) friend — and he attempts to drug her and dig information out of her, but after putting on an Oscar worthy performance Meg convinces Huck that she’s super innocent and has no idea what in the world is going on.
This woman’s performance was so amazing that even Olivia herself — who always trusts her gut instincts — thought Meg was just a nobody and ended up helping Huck reconcile his relationship with her.
Ha!
Little do we know, Meg is a filthy, no good liar. Once she sets her sights on Jennifer — who remember, is supposed to be her BFF for life — she ends up shooting and killing her. WTF, Meg?!
Then, because this is “Scandal” and just when you think the episode is over Shonda Rhimes squeezes some extra dramatic scenes in the last two minutes that leave your entire existence shook, we fast forward and see Meg speaking to Abby and telling her that it’s “handled.”
What’s handled?
Oh, she was just speaking about the time she straight up shot Huck! And apparently, Abby has something to do with it all.
Little good ol’ Abby Whelan.
