Sarah Silverman has signed on to star on a comedy with HBO, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

The untitled project focuses on the comedienne portraying an honest woman dealing with a midlife crisis.

In addition to starring, Silverman will executive produce the comedy. Lucy Prebble (“Secret Diary of a Call Girl”) will write the pilot and executive produce with Silverman, alongside Ash Atalla (“Trollied,” “Cuckoo”), Silverman’s manager Amy Zvi and Dan Hine (“Cuckoo”).

HBO

The comedy reunites Silverman and HBO after the network decided not to move forward last year with “People in New Jersey,” a series that would have looked at characters living in the Garden State played by Silverman and Topher Grace (“That 70’s Show”).

Silverman has recurring roles on Fox’s cartoon comedy “Bob’s Burgers” and Showtime’s “Masters of Sex.” Another comedy, “The Sarah Silverman Program” earned a Primetime Emmy nomination during its run from 2007-2010. She’ll also star in the drama “I Smile Back” slated for next year.

CAA and Thruline Entertainment represent Silverman.
