Hours before President Obama tearfully addressed the nation about gun control, Sarah Palin used her own platform — her Facebook page — to troll the president with a callback to one of his low points in the 2008 campaign.
Palin titled a post “Proudly Clinging To God, Guns, and Constitutional Rights to Keep ‘Em” — a reference to the time Obama was caught speaking a little too freely about “bitter” voters who “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Palin tried not to sound bitter, herself — despite her casual recall of things Obama said in the campaign in which he beat her and John McCain. Her post is a cheerful celebration of the right to bear arms, recalling a day spent shooting with her daughters.
