Sarah Jessica Parker has signed on to star in an untitled new drama by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s AMBI Pictures.

The story revolves around a heartbreaking diagnosis received by a successful singer named Vivienne one night in New York City.

“Forced to confront the questionable choices, hard-won victories, and labyrinthine consequences of a life lived in pursuit of a dream still unrealized, she seeks both a reckoning with and redemption from the ones she loves,” read a press announcement.

Fabien Constant is directing the film from a script written by Laura Eason.

Constant, also a producer and journalist, has directed documentaries about cinema and pop culture, including “Mademoiselle C.” He has also helmed commercials and shorts for Yves Saint Laurent Paris and L’Oreal Paris.

Eason is a Brooklyn-based screenwriter and playwright who is in her fourth season writing and producing on the Emmy-nominated Netflix drama “House of Cards.”

Parker will also serve as producer along with Iervolino, Bacardi and Alison Benson.

The film was developed by Parker and Benson at Pretty Matches Productions, and is being fully financed by AMBI Group.

Cameras will roll in New York City this winter into spring next year.

AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of the AMBI Group, is handling international sales and will be introducing the project to buyers in Toronto during TIFF. Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which arranged for the film’s financing, will co-represent the domestic distribution rights with AMBI.

“We’re of course tremendously excited to be working with Sarah Jessica again,” said AMBI founder Iervolino. “The depth of Sarah Jessica’s amazing range as an actor will be on full display in this role. It’s an amazing story and we can’t think of anyone more adept at bringing it to life.”

Parker and Pretty Matches are represented by CAA, legal by Schreck Rose Dapello Adams. Eason is represented by WME.
