SAG-AFTRA is set to begin official contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on Wednesday, the guilds announced on Tuesday.
In a joint statement, the two sides said the negotiations over TV and film contract agreements will take place at AMPTP headquarters in Sherman Oaks, California.
SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris will chair the union’s negotiating committee. SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director David White and AMPTP President Carol Lombardini will lead negotiations for the two sides.
“The upcoming negotiations will take place under a formal news blackout and neither party has further comment,” the statement continued.
The negotiations come less than a month after the producers’ alliance narrowly avoided a strike by the Writers’ Guild of America on May 1, with a final round of negotiations extending well into the night, hours past the deadline. The Directors Guild previously reached a tentative agreement with AMPTP in December.
