And the Oscar goes to …. “Deadpool”?
It’s definitely within the realm of fake possibility, if “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds has his way.
Reynolds took to Twitter to make the case for his hit superhero film on Tuesday, noting, “Only a few hours left for Oscar voting. Too late for a write-in campaign for an ineligible movie?”
The actor even included an image listing the film’s vast accomplishments.
What accomplishments would those be, you ask? Well, according to the poster, “Deadpool” is the viewer of five Academy Awards. It’s also the winner of four Golden Girls, a Winner Winner in the “Chicken Dinner” category, and Best Picture honors for Deadpool on a Bearskin Rug.
Oh, and the film has also received an award in the Best Animated Short category, for Deadpool’s Cartoon Phallus.
Get ready for an acceptance speech that starts with, “I’d like to spank the Academy…”
