"True Blood's" Ryan Kwanten will star in Serendipity Point Films' Canadian indie "Sex and Sunsets," producer Robert Lantos said Friday morning.
The film, directed by Jeremiah Chechick ("Benny and Joon") and written by Megan Martin, is based on the eponymous novel by Tim Sandlin.
The story follows a failed writer (Kwanten) whose ex-wife documents his flaws and shortcomings in a blog called "Why You Suck." Then he meets and falls in love with a woman on the day she is marrying the supposedly perfect man.
Shooting is set to begin Aug. 20 in Banff and Los Angeles.
Besides co-starring in the HBO vampire hit, Australian actor Kwanten appeared in the Warner Bros. series "Summerland" and played the lead in ESPN's "The Junction Boys."
