Ryan Kavanaugh: I’m Not Interested in Fullscreen Content At All (Exclusive Video)

The Relativity founder talks about his interest in buying a multi-channel network

As Ryan Kavanaugh‘s Relativity Media celebrates its 10th anniversary, TheWrap sat down to grill the energetic founder and CEO about the evolution of the company and where he plans to take it next.

In one part of the discussion, Kavanaugh addressed talk that he is seeking to acquire a multi-channel network, Fullscreen, after his last-minute bid for Maker Studios foundered.

“MCN models are broken,” Kavanaugh said. “I would buy one. I don’t know how many others would get the value that I could… The value of those OTTS (over the top systems) is the consumer…  What we’ll be able to offer is a lot of original programming. I’m not talking about what Fullscreen currently has, or Maker currently has.”

Wrap Editor Sharon Waxman asks: “So you’re not interested in their content?”

Kavanaugh; ‘I’m not interested in their content at all.”

This is an excerpt from the full interview which will run just ahead of Relativity’s birthday celebration in Cannes next week, and is part of a new video series tied to TheWrap’s annual Grill conference.
