Ryan Gosling Saves a Woman From a Speeding Taxi in NYC

Superman? Spider-Man? Batman? Nah, we’ll take Ryan Gosling, please

Forget Spider-Man; if the world — or at least New Yorkers — need a superhero, Ryan Gosling seems more than willing to fill the role.

After breaking up a fight in the middle of the street in NYC last year, Gosling followed with another heroic deed on Tuesday when he saved a woman from being run over by a taxi in Manhattan.

British writer Laurie Penny, who narrowly missed a brush with the taxicab, tweeted about her brush with Gosling Tuesday: "I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened."

"I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi," Penny continued on Twitter.

How did Penny know it was Gosling who had saved her? Bystander confirmation.

She tweeted: "Identity of no-idea-if-actually-a-manarchist-but-definitely-a-decent-sort Ryan Gosling confirmed by girl near me, who said 'you lucky bitch.'"

A rep for Gosling did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.

Penny's "phone and email have been going crazy with media requests all night and all morning," she tweeted, prompting her to plead for a little less Ryan-sanity.

"EVERYBODY NEEDS TO CALM DOWN ABOUT RYAN GOSLING NOW," Penny tweeted, and the all-caps was all her.
