Netflix has put the team on its back and renewed sports comedy “Running Point” for a second season.

“It’s official: See you next season,” the streamer shared early Thursday morning on X. “‘Running Point’ S2 is coming.” Season 1 premiered Feb. 27.

The series from co-creators Mindy Kaling, Elaine Ko, David Stassen and Ike Barinholtz stars Kate Hudson, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman and Brenda Song as the various members behind a dysfunctional family’s pro basketball team. Max Greenfield, Jon Glaser, Jay Ellis, Dane DiLiegro, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Uche Agada, Roberto Sanchez, Scott Evans and Justin Theroux also star.

“We are so thrilled to be able to deliver a Season 2 of ‘Running Point’ to the fans of the show,” Kaling said in a statement. “We still cannot believe the response from audiences — thank you to everyone who has watched! Thank you to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., our star who brought this show to life, Kate Hudson, and, of course, executive producers Jeanie Buss and Linda Rambis, without whom there would be no ‘Running Point.’”

Kaling, Barinholtz and Stassen (all of whom worked on “The Mindy Project” together) serve as co-showrunners after Ko left the show during production. They also EP alongside L.A. Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, Howard Klein, Linda Rambis, Michael Weaver, James Ponsoldt and Hudson. Akshara Sekar, Jordan Rambis and Erin Owens produce.

The renewal news comes just hours after fellow Netflix series “The Recruit” was cancelled by the streamer following its second season.

All 10 episodes of “Running Point” Season 1 are available to stream on Netflix.
