Kate Hudson has had a robust career, but “Running Point” marks a first for the actress. Believe it or not, this is her first leading TV role.
Now streaming on Netflix, the series focuses on Isla Gordon (Hudson), as she’s unexpectedly given control of her family’s basketball team, the Waves. Though a fictional team and story, “Running Point” is loosely based on Lakers president Jeanie Buss.
Here are all the major players you’ll need to know in the series.

Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson)
Isla Gordon is the sole daughter of the Gordon family, and is taken fully by surprise when her oldest brother hands her the reins to the team. She’s played by Kate Hudson, known for films like “Almost Famous,” “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” and many, many more.

Ali Lee (Brenda Song)
Ali is Isla’s best friend and right-hand woman. She’s played by Brenda Song, who millennial fans will remember as London Tipton from “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” More recently, Song has starred in “Dollface,” Gia Coppola’s “The Last Showgirl” and more.

Cam Gordon (Justin Theroux)
Cam is the president of the Waves until, thanks to his drug addiction, he has a massive car accident and heads to rehab. He’s played by “The Leftovers” star Justin Theroux, who most recently starred in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

Ness Gordon (Scott MacArthur)
Ness is the GM of the Waves, and one of Isla’s other brothers. He’s played by Scott MacArthur, best known for starring in “The Mick.” He also had roles in “The Righteous Gemstones” and “No Hard Feelings.”

Sandy Gordon (Drew Tarver)
Sandy is the fourth Gordon sibling, and the CFO of the team. He’s played by Drew Tarver, who starred in “The Other Two” and “Bajillion Dollar Propertie$,” as well as Netflix’s film “Unfrosted.”

Jackie Moreno (Fabrizio Guido)
Jackie is the youngest and most recently discovered of the Gordon clan, and all he really wants is a family. He’s played by Fabrizio Guido, who’s previously starred in “Mr. Iglesias,” “Perry Mason” and more.

Lev Levy (Max Greenfield)
Lev is Isla’s doting fiancé. He’s play by Max Greenfield, best known for his starring turn as Schmidt in “New Girl.” He also stars alongside Beth Behrs as Dave in “The Neighborhood.”

Jay Brown (Jay Ellis)
Jay is the coach of the Waves, though potentially not for long. No spoilers here, but we can tell you he’s played by Jay Ellis, who you might recognize from “Insecure” or “Somebody I Used to Know,” among others.

Travis Bugg (Chet Hanks)
Travis Bugg is one of the star players of the Waves, but he’s got both an ego and a drug problem. He’s played by Chet Hanks, who is the oldest son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, and previously starred in “Empire,” “Your Honor” and more.

Marcus Winfield (Toby Sanderman)
Marcus is another star player on the Waves, arguably even bigger than Travis Bugg. He’s played by Toby Sanderman, who you might recognize from “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” “The Royals” or “The Game.”

Charlie (Scott Evans)
Charlie is Sandy’s boyfriend, though Sandy struggles to bring him around his family and out in public. Charlie is played by Chris Evans’ brother, Scott Evans, who you might recognize from “Barbie,” “Grace and Frankie” and more.
