Watch Chuck Todd Clutch His Head When Rudy Giuliani Says ‘Truth Isn’t Truth’ (Video)

“This is going to become a bad meme,” says NBC’s “Meet the Press” host

Rudy Giuliani perplexed “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd Sunday when the former New York City mayor and President Trump’s personal attorney said, “Truth isn’t truth.”

Giuliani made his usual stop on the weekend news shows Sunday to continue the narrative that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election is a “witch hunt” and that there is “no collusion” between members of the Trump campaign and Russians.

Todd asked if Trump’s legal team has “delayed the negotiations” over if and when Trump would be interviewed by Mueller.

“Look, I am not going to be rushed into having him testify so that he gets trapped into perjury,” Giuliani answered. “And when you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth and he shouldn’t worry, well that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth. He didn’t have a, a conversation…”

Todd smiled and said, “Truth is truth.”

“No, it isn’t truth. Truth isn’t truth,” Giuliani replied. “The president of the United States says…”

Todd threw his head into his hand and laughed in disbelief. “Truth isn’t truth?” he interrupted. “Mr. Mayor, do you realize what…?”

Laughing and rolling his eyes, Todd grinned and predicted, “This is going to become a bad meme.”

He was right about that. “Rudy Giuliani” and “Truth isn’t truth” have both trended on Twitter since his early-morning comment, with many scratching their heads over Giuliani’s remark.

Here are just a few who question the former mayor’s wording:
