Ronda Rousey has finally broken her silence about her defeat to Holly Holm last month when a brutal kick to the head ended her unbeaten record.
“I’m just really f-cking sad,” the MMA fighter told ESPN The Magazine in an exclusive interview with Ramona Shelburne.
Rousey was knocked out 59 seconds into round two of her Mixed Martial Arts showdown with fighter Holly Holm. A kick to the side of the head sent her to the mat — and to the hospital for stitches in and around her mouth and it may be a long time before she fully recovers.
“It might be about three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact,” she revealed.
Rousey, a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, won’t let her recent defeat bring her down, however.
“Maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done,” she said. “But f-ck it, maybe I can.”
The full interview will be in the latest copy of ESPN The Magazine, on newsstands Dec. 8.
