CinemaCon is returning to Caesar's Palace next spring.
The announcement means that exhibitors, studio executives and press who descend on Las Vegas for the annual film-exhibition trade show will once again be treated to such directional gems as "turn left at the David."
Back when CinemaCon was known as ShoWest, the official convention of the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) was hosted at Bally's and the Paris.
The convention will run from April 23 – 26, 2012, NATO announced.
CinemaCon's backers expect to attract some 5,000 movie industry workers next year.
The inaugural CinemaCon was intended to be a love fest between studios and exhibitors, but the mood soured after word leaked that four major studios were embarking on a premium video-on-demand trial with DirecTV that ignored standard 90-day release windows.
Studios are undoubtedly hoping that this year's desert confab will have a more mellow vibe, and that all that Roman decadence won't carry with it any whiff of decline and fall.
